π¦ΈββοΈ Q & A
A personal example-- superheroes. I go Batman > Spider-Man >>>> Superman > Wonder Woman >>>> Iron Man... and so on.
Alright nerd, why don't you get out of my face before I put my Super Foot up your... sorry, look, this is what the lists are for. Make your own. Share it with friends. Argue about it. They make their own. Argue back. Or be super polite and nice if that's your style. Either way it's a ton of fun for everyone.
Sure, you could rank your favorite superheroes in a plain old text file...
But would Batman still be The World's Greatest Detective without the Batcomputer? ππ¦

Some tips that may prove Super useful for all you Power users:
β’ When creating a Category, set a Criteria-- this will be displayed as your basic rationale for why you rank some items higher than others when the list is shared.
β’ 'Distance' can be set between all your rankings. If you feel like Batman > Spider-Man >>>>>>>> Superman, for example (where you like Batman a little bit more than Spider-Man, but Spider-Man a LOT more than Superman), set a small Distance between Batman and Spider-Man and a big distance between Spider-Man and Superman. This also gives you a really useful visual to see your rankings so they mirror your feelings better than pure numeric rankings do.
β’ Groups give permission to all of their members to add, edit, and delete the associated Categories and Items. Your rankings are always only editable by you, however.
β’ You can share your ranks when Filters or Distance are applied and it will be seen as such by your friends.

Filters are really cool but inherently a little complicated to setup. First you need Attributes, then you make values for each item, then you can apply logic to see cool ranking insights.
β’ To create Attributes, click on the Category cell (not the edit/delete buttons) that you want the attributes to apply to. Attributes apply only to a single Category and all its associated items. You can have Text, Integer, and Decimal types of attributes.
β’ Attributes can be marked as required. When required, you cannot make new rankings in the Category for an Item that is missing a value for it. You will also see the list of invalid Items when you next click New Rank. Ranks that have already been added will not be affected by newly required Attributes that they are missing.
β’ You can set attribute values on an Item by clicking on its cell on the Items page, then selecting the Category you want to set Attribute values for.
β’ Just added a new required Attribute and have a ton of Items? You can bulk edit for that attribute. Click on the Attribute cell, and all corresponding values for the candidate Items are editable in a single stroke.
β’ Filter for Attribute values by setting the value in the dropdown on the Ranks page. Multiple filters apply using 'and' logic.
β’ To make the original example full-cricle: click the 'Superheroes' Category cell, add a Text type Attribute named 'Publisher'. Click the 'Publisher' Attribute cell to bulk-edit the values for all your Items in the 'Superheroes' Category, setting some as 'Marvel' and some as 'DC'. Go to the Ranks page, select the 'Superheroes' Category, set 'Marvel' as a the value for 'Publisher' to see how only Marvel characters stack up against each other. Set it to 'DC' to see how only DC characters stack up against each other.
